McCoy as a partner

The pilot covered 2 SAP backend systems and 3 Ariba Realms. In this phase of the project, the data was delivered manually in files with varying structures, which then had to be manually converted to Ariba load files. This process was too labour intensive for Phase 2, when the rest of the company had to be migrated.

How it benefited them

Certain steps were automated to support the company's ambitious goals. The data was delivered via 'MD trackers', files that allow data to be easily delivered, then automatically checked and validated. The SmartData platform was used to convert the data in the MD Trackers into load files for Ariba and handle additional checks. It reduced turnaround time in the core team from a week to a few hours per site.

How we achieved it together

Deployment of MD trackers and SmartData platform created a uniform approach with clear delegation of tasks and responsibilities. The main success factors for the deployment of MD trackers and the SmartData platform were data quality (increase and insight), and the ability to process large amounts of data in a short time. Validations in the MD Tracker helped facilitate increasing quality. Insight into quality became visible in the MD tracker and through the additional validations in the SmartData platform. Errors could be traced and corrected even before the data was loaded into Ariba.
